Abstract

Recent experimental work on very low molecular weight copolymers of styrene and methyl methacrylate has been interpreted to indicate the existence of a chain length dependence of propagation rate constants. In this paper it is shown that these conclusions are not justified by the data because of possible effects of initiation on copolymer composition at short chain lengths and also because of possible errors in monomer composition measurements.
