Abstract
This paper describes the results of a joint numerical and experimental investigation into effects of delamination and impact damage on the compressive strength of graphite epoxy laminates. The numerical analysis predicts that as the size of the damage increases a stage is reached after which any further significant increase in the damage results in only a relatively small decrease in the residual compressive strength.
