Many readers of the Journal of Separation Science will have noticed the striking coloured graphic on the front cover of issues of the Journal. If you have not looked at it closely, perhaps take a moment to do so now. Presumably this picture has a message to tell us about a particular aspect of chromatography, but what technique of chromatography is responsible for giving us such a two-dimensional result? Or is it simply an artist's rendering of the overlay of stylised results from different techniques?
