Abstract

A compact one-quarter ring resonator as the building block of the polarizer chipless tags is proposed, and the operating principle and main design parameters are explained. Based on the proposed resonator, a chipless tag with 19 bits of data within 4.6-7.7 GHz frequency band is fabricated, and data capacity of better than 1.55 $\frac{bits}{cm^2}$ is obtained.
