Abstract
The Editorial by Jane, Davis and Bell poses the question of when in the course of a clinical trial, in which treatment allocations are blinded, information about such allocations should be released to research participants. The authors also ask whether there are circumstances in which an individual participant can demand that this information be provided. The questions are interesting because the different circumstances in which they may arise demonstrate different levels of ethical decision-making within the researcher-participant relationship.
