Abstract

Large-scale screening of antiviral compounds that target dengue virus life cycle requires a robust cell-based assay that is rapid, easy to conduct, and sensitive enough to be able to assess viral infectivity and cell viability so that antiviral effi cacy can be measured. In this chapter we describe a method that uses high-content imaging to evaluate the in vitro antiviral effi cacy in a modifi cation to the cell-based fl avivirus immunodetection (CFI) assay that was described previously in Wang et al. (Antimicrob Agents Chemother 53(5):1823-1831, 2009).
