Abstract
Previously reported experimental work on the direct hydrogenation of Victorian brown coal has largely been carried out in batch autoclaves. Attention has been concentrated on the catalytic effects of iron-containing materials as cheap disposable catalysts and the synergistic catalytic effect of tin when added in small amounts to iron-based catalysts.
