Abstract

¹H NMR spectra of oligodeoxynucleotide duplexes incorporating N⁴-methoxycytosine and a related analogue paired with adenine and guanine demonstrate that Watson-Crick and wobble base pairs are in slow exchange on the chemical shift timescale.
