Abstract

The β-adrenoceptor antagonist radioligand [125I]cyanopindolol (CYP) has been used to localize β-adrenoceptors in rat kidney sections. [125I]CYP bound with high affinity to sites in rat kidney sections having the recognition characteristics of β-adrenoceptors. Autoradiographic studies combined with histochemical techniques demonstrated that the β-adrenoceptors were primarily located on renal glomeruli, distal and cortical collecting tubules rather than on proximal tubules or vascular elements.
