Abstract

This chapter explores the condition of autoimmune gastropathy in children. This is a rare diagnosis and is often confused with the terms autoimmune gastritis or gastric atrophy. We attempt to clarify these definitions and then describe the incidence, etiology, clinical presentation, management, and natural history of the classic condition. There can also be gastritis associated with many other diseases that may fall under the broad umbrella of “autoimmune gastritis,” which are summarized briefly.
