Abstract

The multi-institution Indigenous Weather Knowledge (IWK) project aims on knowledge of weather and climate of indigenous people of Australia. The project focus on knowledge of weather and climate developed over countless generations by indigenous communities of Australia which is based on geophysical and statistical sciences. The project undertakes 17 ATSIC regions of Australia which interprets climatic environment of Australia forming an important constituent of indigenous identity and connection to place. The research work enables development of indigenous knowledge in area of wider community.
