Abstract
The use of artificial wetland systems as a combined secondary-tertiary sewage treatment method and potential applications in Australian rural areas are discussed. The advantages and disadvantages of a combination of anaerobic ponds and constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment are summarized. (D.W.T.)
