Abstract

The national OpenStack federation (the ARDC Nectar / Australian Research Cloud + Core Services) has been an outstanding success. It is both a horizontal federation and a global innovator. The purpose of this project was to amass evidence across a spectrum of organisations including universities, research organisations, and communities to determine:
the meaning of digital federations, the role of digital federations, and the relationship between federation, capacity, governance and impact.
