Abstract

The global population and car ownership continue to rise, resulting in an exponential increase in the number of vehicles on the road and a growing shortage of car parking spaces. This has caused severe vehicle congestion, leading to traffic delays and frustration among drivers. Fortunately, Internet of Things (IoT) presents a solution to this problem through the use of electronic devices and sensors that can transmit information and communicate with each other. In this paper, we propose an innovative web-integrated IoT-based Smart Parking System that can offer convenience and ease to car drivers. This system uses advanced sensors to update the dashboard in real-time, enabling drivers to locate the nearest available parking spots easily. By reducing the waiting time for finding a parking spot, traffic congestion is significantly reduced, which can result in a more efficient flow of traffic and less frustration among drivers. Moreover, the IoT-based Smart Parking System can help parking lot owners manage their parking spaces better and increase revenue from parking fees. The dashboard is designed to provide a seamless customer experience to users with busy and chaotic lifestyles. Overall, the proposed IoT-based Smart Parking System is an innovative and effective solution that can help address the challenges posed by the increasing number of vehicles on the road and the shortage of car parking spaces. By improving the parking experience for drivers and helping parking lot owners better manage their spaces, this system can contribute to a more sustainable and efficient transportation system.
