Abstract
The bit selection and evaluation of rock drillability in drill technological design depend on core drillability test which must represent the core strength and hardness in local areas. This method is limited by coring itself, especially in new exploration regions. In this paper an evaluation model for rock drillability and sonic logs is presented by analysing the relationship between sonic moveout and geological factors which influence rock drillability. The model is used to analyse practical log data from oilfield and the bit types have been determined by drillability sections, which proves this model has better applications.
