Abstract
Photocatalysis as one of advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) has good prospect on environmental protection. However, it has some disadvantages keeping back its application, such as low quantum efficiency, low reaction rate. However adding inorganic oxidizing species enhances photocatalytic efficiency by inhibiting the recombination of holes and electrons and by generating other oxidizing species, advancing the practical application of pholocatalysis. In this paper, the mechanism of inorganic oxidizing species assisted photocatalysis and research progress are reviewed in detail. At last, the application prospect of inorganic oxidizing species in photocatalysis is forecasted.
