An Integrated 4- Bit PIN Diode Reflection Type Phase Shifter at Ku-Band

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference PaperResearchpeer-review

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop a compact, cost-effective and robust phase shifter without using lumped component in the reflective loads at Ku-band. The reason behind is the limitation associated with the availability of the lumped components that can provide desired phase shift, to yield minimum phase error. The proposed phase shifter is significantly smaller i.e. 3.45 × 0.83 cm without input-output matching circuits. Its insertion loss is around 3dB with return loss better than -15dB. The root mean square phase error is 1°at 18.7 GHz. The simulated results validate the proposed design effectively.
