Abstract
This paper presents a design for a very low-cost interface which permits analog voltage recorders to be used with tipping bucket raingauges. The device also permits the connection of tipping buckets to periodic-scan data-acquisition systems. The circuit, which may be housed within a raingauge, generates a stable voltage proportional to the number of tips of the bucket; the maximum count is 256 tips for an output of 10.0 volts d.c. The circuit automatically resets when a full count is reached.
