Abstract
Developments in homogenous catalysis using aluminum complexes that have been disclosed to the research community in the last 15years, i.e. from 2006 till early 2021, are communicated. Reductions (e.g. hydroboration), oxidations (Oppenauer oxidation), additions (Mukaiyama aldol) and cyclizations (Diels Alder) are among a number of organic transformations that have been catalyzed by aluminum complexes in recent years. The chapter also includes an important discussion about the importance of identifying the catalytically active species especially as it pertains to the use of aluminum complexes in Lewis acid catalysis.
