Abstract

Welcome to this poetry anthology, a collection of 267 original poems that explore the vast scope of human experience. Within these pages, you will find a profound juxtaposition of compassion and care against the darker themes of hate and anger, offering a rich tapestry of emotions and reflections. The title poem “Against hate” is my stance against attitudes that would promote hate. It sits with other poems that engender attitudes and practices of peace, self-realisation, meditation and care.
The anthology is deeply rooted in a strong sense of nature and place, expressing a deep respect for the natural world and a longing for a more profound connection with it. These poems are also intensely personal, yet they also serve as a poignant, sometimes provocative, commentary on the state of the world around us and the history that has created what we are. With a variety of styles and tones—from the elusive to the direct—each poem invites readers to examine the complexities of life, fostering a greater understanding of our shared human journey.
There is indeed something here for everyone.
