Abstract

A solo exhibition including 32 original photographic works of object's shadows.

This new body of work explores a new area of research using photography as the primary point of capture and presentation of images. In this new work carefully staged photographs of object’s shadows are presented exploring the relationship between a thing and it’s projection, the material and the immaterial. Shadows are typically overlooked as the direct subject of photography, except where an object’s silhouette is used on the surface of the printing paper (Man Ray). This project seeks to capture the subtleties of projected shadows and what they can reveal or conceal about an object in space. The work is a unique approach and represents a new area of exploration.
