Explanted emphysematous lungs are useful for physiologic and radiologic studies.1,2 For accurate ex vivo studies, the lungs need to be carefully prepared, ensuring that they are free of air leakage. We describe an inexpensive and simple technique of lung preparation for ex vivo study.
