Abstract

A mild synthesis of 3-aryl-2-methylidene-3-(tosylamino)propanoates is described. The potential utility of these products is demonstrated by a simple prepn. of the Et esters of syn- and anti-3-amino-2-methyl-3-phenylpropanoic acid. [on SciFinder(R)]
