A methodology for the optimisation of an air monitoring network

Abstract

Periodic reviews of air quality monitoring network designs are required to ensure that they continue to meet the current and emerging needs of individual jurisdictions. This paper describes a mathematical optimisation approach to network design. Data sources, optimisation approaches and interpretation of the results obtained are presented.
