Abstract

This paper offers a useful insight to strategic response of third party logistics (3PL) service providers in Malaysia in the uncertain economic external environment. A framework is developed using Resource-based view (RBV) and Market-based view (MBV) theories and is tested using path analysis. The findings show that both the external and internal environment influence operations emphases. This paper contributes by extending the theory of MBV and RBV into logistics/supply chain management and developing a composite strategy model for it.
