Abstract
This article is about how ‘changing’ Spanish gender is experienced, negotiated and performed by contemporary women and men in domestic contexts. Seeing housework as a site at which gender identities and roles and creatively constructed, represented and contested I explore how individual men and women construct the ‘traditional’ Spanish housewife and situate their own gendered identities in relation to her.
