Abstract

The reaction of 1,2-(NH2)2C6H4 with Sb(NMe2)3/nBuLi gives the formally-aromatic heterocyclic anion [C6H4N 2Sb]- which oligomerises into a cyclic tetrameric arrangement in the complex [C6H4N2SbLi• PMDETA]4 (1) (PMDETA = {Me2NCH2CH 2}2NMe) using a donor-acceptor bonding mode that is unique in related main group heterocyclic anions.
