Who determines gestation length - mother or fetus?

This project will address 2 fundamental and so far unanswered questions in reproductive biology - how are the length of gestation, and the size of the offspring determined? This project will use a unique and novel paradigm to identify the source (maternal, fetal and/or placental) and the molecular mechanisms controlling gestation length and offspring size.
