The day-of-the-week variability in meteorological parameters contains key information regarding human
impact on climate. The project will quantify the nature of this variability at a large number of locations across
the Australian continent and its range of climate zones. Investigation of this is significant in that it will provide
an integrated, little-explored window on the anthropogenic influences on the atmosphere, and reveal insights
which would be difficult to obtain by other means. The project outcomes will include highlighting and
quantifying, in the Australian context, the physics behind the variation and point to the roles of, in particular,
the effect of human waste heat and atmospheric aerosols.
