Project Details
Project Description
This project will develop an innovative context-aware smart energy management system that will effectively reduce energy consumption in residential buildings. This technology has two target beneficiaries: individual users who will be able to manage their energy usage better and utility industries which will be able to deliver more effective and context-sensitive automated demand-response mechanisms. This project will leverage a combination of contest-aware technologies to identify user presence and activity and combine this with real-time stream processing of a residential dwelling's appliance usage patterns to improve the energy savings of automated demand response strategies that operate on the basis of pre-defined static rules.
