Project Description
The expansion of online learning opportunities for school students continues to grow. The Victorian VCE Expansion project is designed to support students in rural and regional areas in particular to access and engage in VCE subjects of their choice through virtual learning and blended modes to ensure they meet their desired higher educational, training and vocational pathways. However, studying in these modes can place new demands on students, and requires a different or refined set of skills, regulatory behaviours and attitudes. This research is designed to
(1) Identify key issues that impact on the success of secondary students virtual learning, including: (a) challenges and risks to access and participation, and (b) factors that support and sustain students’ success in virtual learning.
(2) Offer recommendations for how these identified key issues may be addressed.
