Project Details
Project Description
The project aim is to provide state-of-the-art X-ray diffraction instrumentation within a shared research facility - the Victorian Molecular Structure Elucidation Facility. The technique of X-ray diffraction is essential to a wide range of research programs and the facility would provide critical support for research in areas including chemical synthesis, materials chemistry and structural biology. Insights gained from structure determinations make it possible to understand complex chemical and biological systems in terms of the underlying molecular structure. The intention of the project is to provide not only essential hardware but also promote the sharing of resources, ideas and expertise amongst a broad scientific community.
