VicHealth Pride Cup Evaluation

Despite the problem of LGBTI+ discrimination and exclusion from sport being well studied and understood, there is very little research focused on finding effective solutions. This evaluation, led by Associate Professor Ruth Jeanes and performed for VicHealth, will provide valuable knowledge contributing to an understanding of what works in LGBTI+ inclusion approaches within sport, what does not work, and why, in relation to changing long outdated attitudes and behaviours. A mixed methods approach will be used to support the collection of a broad and robust range of data able to provide a detailed picture of the value of the Pride Cup in supporting LGBTI+ inclusion. The evaluation will comprise of two key elements – firstly, reviewing existing initiatives within this context and secondly, measuring the impact of the Pride Cup program.
