Understanding human lung fibroblast responses to hypoxia in ILD

This Grant-in-Aid will be used to foster the collaborative efforts of Dr Jaffar and Dr Khor in establishing a multi-pronged research program on the effects of hypoxaemia and oxygen therapy in interstitial lung disease (ILD), which crosses the basic science and clinical boundaries. This funding will specifically support the formulation of the overall collaborative experimental approaches, as well as the collection of preliminary data required for future grant applications (NHMRC Ideas Grant/NHMRC Cohort Study Grant to further evaluate the biological mechanisms and clinical utility of the identified candidates biomarkers in people with ILD).
