Project Description

Australia faces the paradoxical problems of high rates of unintended pregnancy and infertility. Both carry economic, health service and social costs but are experienced in individual lives. Although the population patterns are wel documented in demographic surveys, littl eis known about how Australian women and men of reproductive age manage fertility. to inform health promotion, policy and clinical practice and address this knowledge gap, Victoria's Department of Health, Familiy Planning Victoria, Melbourne IVF and the royal women's Hospital are partnering with the University of Melbourne's Key Centre for Women's Health in Society to investigate the multiple factors influencing fertility management in Australian women and men.
