Project Description

Research question: What are adolescents’ needs when it comes to accessing contraception and abortion care through the primary care setting?

Aim: To understand the needs, barriers, and enablers to adolescents' access to contraception and abortion care in the Australian primary care settings and potential strategies to overcome these barriers.

Objectives:
1. Identify the opportunities to improve accessibility and delivery of abortion and contraceptive services to adolescents in primary care
2. Understand the role community pharmacy, nurses and GPs can play in facilitating access and meeting adolescent needs
3. Identify potential strategies and areas of research to address adolescents needs and improve provider capacity and delivery of adolescent-friendly and centred services
Develop recommendations and proposed solutions to addressed the identified needs and barriers
