Project Description

The overarching objective of this study is to examine the health, safety and wellbeing of people employed in the transport and logistics industry nationally. Stage 1 of the study will address the following specific objectives: to characterise the health, safety and wellbeing of transport and logistics workers and benchmark this relative to workers in other industries; to research and identify risk factors affecting health, safety and wellbeing of transport and logistics workers including factors that can be modified/are amenable to change; to describe changes in health, safety and wellbeing of transport and logistics workers over time and benchmark this relative to workers in other industries. Planned subsequent stages (2 and 3) will address the above specific objectives in addition to determining the prevalence and impact of lifestyle and medical conditions in transport and logistics workers, including alcohol and drug use, fatigue/sleep disorders, mental health conditions and chronic illness.
