Project Description
The proposed residency expands on recent projects intersecting public space, feminist pedagogy and critical labour studies. The project seeks to contribute to ISCPs series of offsite projects by instigating a participatory project centred around Women’s Labor History and the urgent legacy these histories offer in making visible the precarious labour embedded in contemporary art. The ISCP residency will draw from special collections dedicated to Women’s Labor History at The Tamiment Institute Library at New York University; The Crow Collection, Melbourne and the Interference Archive, Brooklyn. The ISCP studio will be dedicated to material research, using limited means, to produce a series of sculptures and print based assemblages for the public realm.
