What are the employment -relations strategies in airlines? What role do such strategies play in achieving low costs and the competitiveness of new low-cost airlines? These are significant questions for airlines are an essential service in Australia. We aim to answer such questions using quantitative and qualitative methods. The outcomes should help airlines to thrive in Australia. The new airlines' novel approaches to management and employment relations should help nurture the growth of Australian aviation. Such approaches promote organisational cultures with a focus on developing talent and values favourable to innovation in other Australian workplaces, as well as in aviation.
