Project Description
Violence against women is the most important issue threatening the safety and lives of women and girls in Victoria. While the issue has received increasing attention, it is essential that responses and prevention initiatives are grounded in evidence and are appropriately resourced. Using case analysis and interviews, this project will generate an in-depth understanding of the risks of violence and points of intervention common to cases of lethal violence against women in Victoria. The findings will provide an evidence base to illuminate women’s experiences of lethal violence and to inform support services, prevention initiatives and justice system responses in Victoria.
