Project Description

This project will address the historical and contemporary invisibility of Australian farm women by creating an
online, publicly accessible, multimedia documentary database that maps the diverse, innovative and vital role
women play/ed in Australian agriculture. CIs in the fields of social work, women's history, cultural informatics and
archival practice, will collaborate with community, government and cultural organisations to create innovative
digital tools that will facilitate research, public access and community engagement.The project will develop
research infrastructure and collections that will inform scholarly research, public policy, public exhibitions and
community forums that seek to engage and acknowledge Australian farm women.
