Project Description

The project aims to develop and evaluate a prototype device which will allow the real time recording and display of electrical and other brain signals during stimulation of the brain with transcranial magnetic stimulation: a technology which is widely used in cognitive neurosciences and for the therapy of neuropsychiatric disorders. The proposed research will evaluate the capacity of the device to be used in the measurement of TMS stimulation thresholds and to evaluate optimal TMS coil orientation. We will also study the utility of the device in assessing cortical responses to repetitive TMS stimulation.
