The comparative physiology of oxygen delivery to the kidney

Project: Research

Project Details

Project Description

Shunting of oxygen between arteries and veins helps reduce the risk of oxygen poisoning. Using state-of-the-art imaging and modeling, we will first define the renal vasculature and then estimate the amount of oxygen shunted in several different animal species. This project will achieve new insights into oxygen management by the kidney.
