Project Details
Project Description
The project traces communication networks of the Chinese knowledge Diaspora in Australian and Canadian universities. It analyses networks of such individuals with colleagues in PRC and other Chinese scholars worldwide, analysing the dynamics, advantages and difficulties. The project is critical to enhancing Australia's knowledge4 of China, and also offers a fresh insight into prospects for greater translational research collaboration (increasingly enabled, via the spread and greater density of ICTs), the bilateral advantages that such networks can confer, and ways to replenish the ageing Australian and Canadian academic workforce with bi-lingual, bi-cultural intellectuals.
