Project Description
The aim of this project is to use cutting-edge interdisciplinary technology to create new solutions for landholders and communities impacted by extreme weather events and natural disasters such as floods, bushfires and landslips. We will also look to better understand the barriers to entry for landholders and assess how our team can play a role in restoring both the environment and sense of community to these impacted regions. AirSeed is working with landholders that have been impacted by the 2019/20 bushfires and catastrophic Lismore flooding earlier this year; these projects will provide our team with significant learning opportunities and will serve as the basis for this project.
The project will also demonstrate the efficacy of drone planting and its benefit for both the economic livelihoods and social wellbeing of the landholders and communities in which it’s applied. This method of planting aims to reduce financial and societal barriers to entry, and allow for meaningful dialogue to educate the wider public on how technology can be implemented as part of a wider disaster relief strategy.
