Project Details
Project Description
Identifying the functional components of eukaryote genomes is one of the most important challenges in biology. It is essential to a full understanding of the operations of eukaryotic cells, and will enable future medical, agriculture and pharmaceutical advances. This project will develop and apply a collection of powerful new mathematical and statistical methods for discovering new functional elements in human and other eukaryote genomes. Using our expertise in mathematical and statistical modelling, high-performance computing and bioinformatics we will develop new algorithms and an expanded list of functional components in conjunction with international groups we will conduct experimental investigation of putative functional elements
