Project Description
The Pedestrian Protection Program (PPP) aimed to upgrade all two-phase signalised intersections with timed pedestrian protection. Specifically, the program aimed to eliminate or temporally separate the green signal for a turning vehicle commencing at the same time as a green walk signal on a parallel pedestrian movement.
The overarching program evaluation of PPP is centred around four key evaluation questions to understand program implementation and impact. The objective of this research project is to develop a robust analysis approach, conduct the analysis, and write a report to document the findings, to determine whether PPP resulted in reduced pedestrian crashes, at treated intersections.
