Project Description

Sound Footings aims to foster Australian music research through the cataloguing, preservation, digitizing and digital archiving of unique music collections held in Universities throughout Australia. A collaborative project between The University of Western Australia, Monash University and National Library, Sound Footings will create a web-based national infrastructure comprising catalogues of UWA's Eileen Joyce Collection and Monash's Archive of Australian and Asian Music, as well as online access to digitally-transferred sound recordings and print documents. The project will establish sound footings for Australian music research by opening up significant new research areas and providing national and international inline (remote) access.
