Six Moments in Kingston Town

Project Details

Project Description

Six Moments in Kingston Town engages with the history of the Grange through the issue of ‘heritage’ and the contentious debates revolving around the restoration of the site and its proposed redevelopment by many interest groups - arts, theatre, youth groups/accommodation, commerce etc. It engages with these issues by proposing a landscaping project for the Moorabbin Police Station which occupies the site of the Grange home, a prominent settler homestead in Melbourne built in 1856. The project proposes to manifest an outlining of the concrete onto the car-park of the Moorabbin Police Station through string lines and pavement spray - reminiscent of the preliminary landscaping works in parklands with mock real estate advertising hoarding at the front of the Moorabbin Police Station imaging the idea.
