With one third of rivers in poor condition, Australia's degraded riverince ecosystems require urgent attention and effective restoration measures. Successful restoration of biodiversity in freshwater ecosystems requires a sound understanding of the interplay between biodiversity requirements, landscape context, restoration complexities and uncertainties surrounding these factors. this project will make explicit links between biodiversity and restoration actions at apprpriate landscape scales. It will develop tools that will enhance our capacity to design, evaluate and rank alternative restoration strategies and achieve biodiversity goals.
